The gene for hypertension discovered by U.S.

U.S. scientists discovered the gene that increases the risk of hypertension. 20% of Europeans have this gene, the magazine announced Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Researchers at the University of Maryland analyzed the DNAs of 542 members of the Amish of Pennsylvania municipalities, those of Europeans and white Americans.
It was found that the STK39 gene is responsible for the risk of hypertension is widespread and present in 1 in Europe 5.

Hypertension is a disease whose development depends on both the heredity of several environmental factors including lifestyle. While the STK39 gene is not the only gene that influences the risk of hypertension, stress scholars.

But these new data can still be very useful to detect those predisposed to hypertension, so they can be used to develop an individualized approach to treatment, say scientists.
