The circumstances that lead a person to decide to end his life are numerous, but the feelings a person feels with regard to these circumstances are more important than the circumstances themselves. All those who consider suicide feel that life is unbearable. They have an extreme sense of hopelessness and helplessness. In some cases of mental illness, people may hear voices or have delusions that drive them to suicide.
People who talk about suicide or attempt to do so does not necessarily want to die. Often, they are reaching out for help. An attempted suicide is often the turning point in the life of a person if he gets enough support to help make the necessary changes.
If someone you know is feeling desperate enough to commit suicide, you may be able to help find a way to cope with the troubles. And if you yourself are so distressed that you can not imagine any solution other than suicide, remember that help is available.
